Automotive Service Technician or Apprentice

Carget is expanding, and we’re looking to add two Automotive Technician Apprentices and Journeyman to our fast-paced, customer-focused service department. Apprentice Automotive Technician

Position Overview

As an Apprentice Technician, you’ll work alongside experienced technicians on premium vehicles from brands like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Lexus, and Porsche. You’ll perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs while learning diagnostic and mechanical skills in a fast-paced, high-standard environment.

This role is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude, strong work ethic, and a drive to grow into a Red Seal-level technician.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs under supervision.
  • Assist senior technicians with diagnostics and advanced repairs.
  • Follow Carget and SGI safety and quality procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Accurately record work performed on repair orders.
  • Communicate with advisors and other staff to ensure workflow efficiency.
  • Participate in training and skill development programs.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Registered 1st or 2nd-year Automotive Apprentice.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Positive attitude, punctual, and accountable.
  • Ability to follow direction and maintain attention to detail.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with clean abstract.

Journeyman Automotive Technician

Position Overview

As an Automotive Service Technician at Carget Automotive, you will play a vital role in maintaining customer satisfaction by providing accurate and effective vehicle repairs. Your expertise will be called upon to diagnose and perform maintenance on various automotive systems, including:

  • Brake and Hydraulic Systems: Ensuring the safety and reliability of our customers' braking systems.
  • Exhaust and Fuel Systems: Optimizing performance through effective repair and replacement of exhaust and fuel ignition systems.
  • Suspension and Alignment: Enhancing ride quality and safety with precise alignment services.
  • Air Conditioning and Climate Control Systems: Guaranteeing comfort in all driving conditions.

You will take pride in performing vehicle maintenance and repairs accurately during the customer's initial visit, ensuring safety and reducing the likelihood of return visits for similar issues. This role calls for a dedicated specialist who can work independently with minimal supervision while managing time efficiently.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:

  • Hold a current Journeyman status.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and a strong work ethic.
  • Possess your own tools necessary for the trade.
  • Have a valid driver’s license, as it is essential for the position.
  • Be insurable based on the company's standards.
  • Exhibit the ability to multitask and manage various priorities effectively.

Skills and Abilities

We are looking for a technician who possesses the following specific skills:

  • Communicate effectively with Service Advisors regarding the work performed and any necessary future repairs.
  • Skillfully adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance services proficiently to keep vehicles running smoothly.
  • Perform road tests to assess vehicle performance and test all relevant systems and components.
  • Accurately test and adjust repaired systems to meet or exceed manufacturer specifications.
